Ali's Big Surprises!!!

I saw the Santa Suit with Kevin Sorbo the other night and liked it so much that I decided to vote for it on IMDb. While there I decided what the heck I'll write a review (never did it before) to get the word out. So I wrote this review:
A Santa lesson, 5 December 2010
10/10
Author: alisonrhem62 from Canada

The best Christmas movie I have seen in decades. Kevin Sorbo does and exceptional job in the role of Drake. Sorbo's character is realistic and believable and not over the top. I laughed and cried and can't wait to watch it again and again. If it has been ages since a movie has touched your heart then this is a must see. If you want to watch a Christmas movie that makes you feel you have not wasted 2 hours of your time, then this is the one to see. If you want to watch a movie that you can't walk away from even on the commercials then sit back and enjoy this ever so worthwhile movie. This is a movie that should be watched year long and not just at Christmas. Honestly, I can't say enough about this movie, except "Watch it!"

After it was approved I was surprised to get a response from the screen writer and wanted to share it with Kevin's fans. Here it is:

Dear Alison,

I'm the screenwriter on "The Santa Suit." Thank you so much for your kind review.

This script has an especially warm place in my heart. I intially came up with the premise when I was stuck in traffic in west Los Angeles on a miserably hot afternoon. I wrote a couple pages down and when Hallmark bought it a few months later the script almost wrote itself. And if I can be allowed to pay myself on the back a little, I'm thrilled with the way it turned out, considering we had a very limited budget and only twelve days shooting time.

Kevin Sorbo, of course, was the perfect Drake. He combines leading man looks with the ability to do comedy which is a pretty rare talent, and he is just absolutely charming. The nicest thing is that he was like that in real life. He was joy to work with, totally professional, easy-going, unflappable.

Thanks again for taking the time out to write your review. The networks read them, and it should help us sell more movies to them. They're already talking about some more Christmas movies for next year.

Best,

Kevin Commins

Organic Pastures Dairy had visits from Kevin Sorbo and other Celebrities

George Lopez Celebrity Golf Classic

Organic Pastures Dairy had the honor of being asked to join the George Lopez National Kidney Foundation Celebrity Golf Classic in Toluca Lake, CA, as the one and only food vendor! OPDC was invited to attend because of our dedication to whole natural foods, rebuilding immune systems, and healthy living. Celebrities came to the charity event to raise awareness for the Kidney Foundation and to improve health through whole natural foods. Our RAW milk products were a fan favorite at the event, as well as our Kombucha Living Tea. Organic Pastures is very happy to have been part of such a wonderful charitable event.  We were able to connect to our "movie star" consumers in a new and exciting environment, in a mutual effort to prevent disease, and promote wellness through nutrition.

Kevin Sorbo
Having been Hercules for so many years, Kevin really enjoys taking care of his body. After a long day at the gym, he knows that by drinking his raw milk, his muscles will repair themselves much faster and he will be ready for any upcoming film projects.

Sunday Morning @ ShoreLeave Kevin & The water bottle

On Sunday my husband Chris came to the con with us, Jan wanted to stay outside for a bit before she went inside for the day and Sue stayed outside with her. We(Chris and I) ran into Hermie on the way down, she was on her way up to get some fresh air and take a break. When we got to Kevin he was signing an autograph, Chris went to sit down and I wheeled my way over to Kevin. To the side of the table and asked, "I need to borrow a sharpie please, for a minute, but it's for you anyway." Kevin smiled and nodded yes, I picked up a black sharpie, but there was no room to sit the disc I needed to write on down. So I moved one of the water bottles, well... I didn't see the little red piece of candy sitting behind the water bottles, and when I set the water bottle down it tipped toward Kevin and fell. Kevin smiled up at me and said, "It's a good thing that wasn't open." I stood the water bottle back up and replied, "Well... You know we all love you with the wet hair look, but that wouldn't have wet your hair." Which of course made him laugh and shake his head. I finished writing on the disc, and put the sharpie back on the table with the others. Then I handed him the disc, with the video I made him on it. I told him once he watched it and let me know what he thinks of it, then I would put it up on Youtube him for the rest of you to see. So I'm waiting to hear from him about it. But since he's really busy right now it may take a little while.
Anyway that was the cute little story about the piece of candy on the table by Kevin, and how if the water bottle had been open, he would've ended up with a very wet lap.  LOL

Three of our friends at ShoreLeave... Kind of LOL

This is a picture of Sue, Jan and Sandy.  We all know Jan doesn't want her face shown online, but I really wanted to put this picture up, so I sent it to her and she made the changes. Sandy is holding my picture with Kevin along with hers. Not much more to say about this picture, except the Jan made the changes. I hope you all get a laugh from the changes she made.

Kevin Sorbo bringing back some Kull memories

A lady came by with two replica axes, one though small and gold, looks similar to the one Kevin used as Kull. I asked her if I could take a picture of Kevin holding it and she agreed. I had to wait a few minutes while Kevin signed autographs and talk to people.  Then he held it up for us, while I was getting my camera ready, Jan asked from behind me, "What you're not going to hold it like Kull?" Kevin smiled and said, "No This things way too small, it'd have to be much bigger." We all laughed and the woman that the Axe belonged to said, "Yeah it's more like from when you were six or seven." Kevin laughed and nodded his head yes. So he held it as you see in the picture with a big smile, then handed it back to me and I gave it back to the lady and thanked her for letting us take the picture, while Kevin went back to signing autographs.

The Story Of Ali's Hug to Kevin Sorbo!

ShoreLeave 32 Con... I asked Kevin to come over to me, I had one more hug to give him before the day was over. He walked over to me gave me a hug, and I told him it was a hug from Aliykat. Then I said, "You may know her as the one who votes for you every 20 minutes." He smiled and said, "She is really a devoted voter." I told him, "Yes I know, I don't know how she does it. One day last week I had to be on the computer all day, so she sent me an e-mail in the morning, asking me to vote for you all day long while she was at work, because you were at#18 and I had to keep you in that spot. When she got home she sent me a message and asked, had I voted all day. I told her yes and I had no idea how she does it every day, every 20 minutes, it's exhausting. To which she laughed." He laughed and said, "I know she votes all the time." He starts to walk away, then turns back to me, holds his hand up as if to say don't get me wrong and said, "That's not a bad thing." Then he walked back to the autograph table, turned smiled at me and said, "Keep voting." I smiled and told him, "of course... Anything for you Kevin."

A World Fit For Kids! WFIT's Spokesperson, Kevin Sorbo, is recognized as a national advocate for healthy afterschool programs!!

Please go check out this article... click on the picture of Kevin above to go to the Afterschool Alliance: Afterschool Snacks article about Kevin Sorbo he is recognized as a  national advocate for healthy afterschool programs!! His no profit organization A World Fit For Kids is a  wonderful program! The following text is directly from their website which you should also check out and find a way to help out as so many of us Kevin Sorbo fans do... I couldn't say anything about A World Fit For Kids then is already written on their site... so I borrowed it to add here.... I think this is a Wonderful program and well worth supporting...

About A World Fit For Kids!

A World Fit For Kids! (WFIT) is the leading nonprofit provider of after school physical activity and youth development programs for children and teens. Our mission is to prepare young people for fit and fulfilling lives!
For the past fifteen years, WFIT has served more than 130,000 students - successfully getting kids moving and motivated!  They have become healthy role models in some of the most economically challenged communities of Los Angeles.
It’s working!
Our results are impressive – from improved fitness and higher grades for elementary school students to reduced dropout rates and employment  for high school students.
WFIT uses physical activity, nutrition and mentoring as the hooks to create meaningful experiences that encourage each individual’s understanding of both themselves and the world they live in.
Now more than ever, improving students’ fitness levels and overall health is critically important to combat the epidemic of childhood obesity and type 2 diabetes as well as the massive economic and social issues that overweight and inactivity place on our communities.
WFIT addresses several social issues at once.

For teens and college students:
  • Fitness,
  • Personal development,
  • School graduation rates
  • Job skills
  • Job readiness
  • Mentoring
For younger children:
  • Fitness
  • Homework assistance
  • School connectedness
  • Mentoring
WFIT is successful because it intentionally develops emotional, mental and physical fitness, and keeps elementary through high school youth actively engaged in positive and productive after school activities.
The goal for each student is a simple but vitally important one.
To gain the knowledge and skills necessary to make healthy lifestyle choices that will last a lifetime.
Last year, WFIT was honored with the prestigious Spotlight Award Gold Medal from the California Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports as the 2007 “outstanding organization that positively impacts physical activity and fitness levels of California’s children and youth.”

PARADOX

PARADOX
Genre: Sci-Fi Thriller
Directors: Brenton Spencer
Cast: Kevin Sorbo, Steph Song
Synopsis: PARADOX introduces homicide detective Sean Nault, a cop on a parallel Earth whose technology is powered exclusively by magic. Sean investigates a baffling series of murders committed by a means he’s never seen before: the power of science. With the aid of Lenoir – a member of the ridiculed subculture of “pragmatists” who believe science is more than the stuff of myths and children’s stories – and the 130 year old sorcerer Winston Churchill, Sean uncovers an apocalyptic plot that will lead him to another dimension – ours – and the realization that, unless he prevents it, both earths could well be destroyed.

FLESH WOUNDS

Watch the trailer for one of Kevin Sorbo's many up coming movies called Flesh Wounds here. Click on the picture below. and enjoy...  I think it's gonna be great can't wait to see it.

FLESH WOUNDS
Genre: Action
Director: Dan Garcia
Cast: Kevin Sorbo, Heather Marsden
Synopsis: On a remote US Army facility that officially doesn’t exist, a top-secret group of scientists conduct weapons research when they’re horribly and suddenly ripped apart by an unseen enemy.

With the disappearance of the scientists blamed on terrorists, an elite covert ops team commanded by Lt. Tyler (Kevin Sorbo) is tasked with recovering the missing personnel within 24 hours, as well as keeping the operation strictly off the books. Accompanied by a CIA escort Cassandra Mason (Heather Marsden), Tyler’s team arrives in country only to find the scientists already dead. They’ve been savagely dismembered and as one of the team observes, “there’s no way an AK-47 can do this to a man.” Tyler’s commandos engage the terrorists, but after the slaughter it’s apparent the supposed terrorists are actually a contingent of US soldiers on a training exercise. Something far stronger and more dangerous than terrorists has mutilated the scientists.

Pentagon machinations aside, Mason points out that Tyler’s job is just to shoot his gun and keep his mouth shut. But as the bodies pile up and the deadline closes in, the reason for the secrecy becomes clear. Tyler and his team have been sent to destroy a prototype super soldier, and this mission they may not return from.
