J. Neil Schulman’s 1979 libertarian-themed novel. Like Atlas Shrugged,
Alongside Night takes place in a future America ravaged by inflation,
crony capitalism, and authoritarianism. Schulman, who wrote and directed
the move, does an excellent job in interweaving an introduction to
Austrian economics and libertarian political philosophy into the story.
"I read Alongside Night when I was in college and it helped inspire me
to want to learn more about the freedom philosophy and become active in
the liberty movement. I was able to attend an advance screening of
Alongside Night and I quite enjoyed it. This may be a good movie to show
to a friend who you are trying to get interested in learning about our
ideas and joining our movement."
