My friend Gina, an avid Kevin Sorbo follower, asked me to see this movie. It had been a long time since I was able to spend time with Gina, so I agreed.
Now, let me give you a quick synopsis of my personality. I have Asperger’s and severe ADHD. In a nutshell (no pun intended), I am very logical and an even worse critic. Here are my thought about
the movie.
The acting was less than desired. On one hand, I wish Christian movie producers/companies would spend some of their money on better actors, but on the other hand, this movie could be exempt on that token because the message was clear and thought provoking. Kevin Sorbo was a very pleasant surprise, he really does not get the recognition he deserves.
My favorite scenes of this movie were the debates on proving there is a God. These in fact, are the same reasons why I am a Christian and a monotheist, no thanks to my Catholic upbringing or the fact that nuns in school swatted me. I reveled in these debates and hoped for more in the movie. Not only did this make absolute sense, but also it was so eloquently put. I also believe that this movie answered all of the questions that could possibly arise to any non-believer or agnostic. So on this count, the movie was a Spot-On A+, and I would recommend it as such.
As a movie, this could have been written much better and many of the actors should have been replaced, but as a message to the people who have questions about God, the message was, by all means, excellent. Now, why can’t we put the two together?
