Kevin Sorbo - Kevin Sorbo Snubbed For Hercules Movie Cameos
by WENN | 09 December 2013
Actor Kevin Sorbo is nursing a bruised ego after producers behind two rival Hercules movies refused to offer the original Tv demi-god a cameo in the forthcoming projects.
The 55 year old shot to fame as the ancient Greek hero in 1994 film Hercules and the Amazon Women, and continued to play the son of Zeus in the Tv series which followed, Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, which ran until 1999, and in spin-off show Xena: Warrior Princess.
Twilight star Kellan Lutz and wrestler-turned-actor Dwayne Johnson have both been cast in big screen adaptations of the great Greek's story, and Sorbo was eager to get in on the action.
However, he reveals executives behind both projects snubbed his request to land a small role in either of the films.
He tells Tmz.com, "I was a little bummed they didn't call me for a cameo... It's kinda weird... We called them up but they shut us down. They said, 'Forget about it'. My manager called up and said, 'Put a wig on him, make him Zeus...' I'm too old to play that part (of Hercules), I get it, but it's kinda weird that... they wouldn't have me come in for a cameo."
Both Lutz's The Legend of Hercules and Johnson's Hercules, directed by Brett Ratner, are due for release next summer (14).
